SOIL
Good drainage is extremely important when it comes to growing lavender. The roots of lavender plants do not enjoy staying wet for too long. Clay soils must be amended with top soil or other drainage amendments.

SUNLIGHT
The amount of sunlight a lavender plant needs is between 8-10 hours. Lavender thrives in hot drier areas of a garden.

PRUNING
All lavender enjoys a good trim either in late Summer or mid Spring. Lavender plants should be trimmed about 1/3 amount back, into a mounded hedge, making sure not to cut down into the woody stems of the plant.
